Vintage Paneled White Parachute Military? Drop Parachute? 10 Panels

The following auction is for what I believe is a vintage parachute. It is used. It is a bit dirty from being in storage and needs cleaned up. It has a musty smell to it. It has some small tears on the edges and has some staining.
It is from a pet free home. Just kidding, as soon as I put it down my cat sat on it. His name is Tommy and that's what he does. It may have a few hairs of his on the chute.
I kind of measured it and came up with around 6.5 by 7.5 feet.
I counted 10 big panels, but did not count the smalls. Some of the pieces are numbered.
Has some stains, some small tears along edging, some snags here and there. I guess it is nylon or silk. It smells musty. It may not even be a parachute. I just found it in an estate and that is what I was told.
