WILLIMANTIC SPOOL THREAD TRADE CARD WITH PICTURE OF P.T. BARNUM’S JUMBO THE CIRCUS ELEPHANT BEING PULLED BY THE THREAD About early 1880s. Measures 5 3/4” X 3 3/8” on thin card stock. Jumbo died in 1885 when he and a pygmy elephant named “Tom Thumb” got hit by a train. With an ad on the back saying the thread won a prize at an 1881 Atlanta Exposition.
